Penalties and turnovers prove to be the downfall for the Patriots. Providence 14 Burlington Cummings 30
------
The Patriots came out of the gate looking very good with a 14 to 10 lead late in the first half. A quick score in the final minutes gave Burlington the 17-10 halftime lead.
Penalties, big plays, penalties, turnovers, and penalties proved to be too much for the Patriots in the second half. Things just seemed to fall apart for Providence.
It seemed like every time they would take one step forward they would take two steps back. The effort was there for the Patriots, but you cannot make crucial mistakes against good teams and expect to win.
Next week is a big county game. It is homecoming and rival Eastern Randolph is coming to town.

Let's be fair about this, the officials were make some seriousely bad calls against Providence and ignored those same ''penalties'' for Cummings.
