Both teams openned up with back to back turnovers, but eventually the offense started clicking. Paris Martin scored three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to another Mid-State Conference victory.

The Wildcats finished with a very balanced offensive attack of 163 yards rushing and 166 yards passing.

Dalton Smith has proven to be one of the more sure handed receivers in the county and had a couple very nice catches.  Randy Kearns also had two very good receptions including a great diving catch early in the fourth quarter.  I hate I did not get that one on video.  Sorry Randy, but great catch.

This was a potential ambush game for the Wildcats. I was impressed with how they played tonight. They were coming off a signature win over Burlington Cummings. They had all of the distractions that can go on during a homecoming week. This Bartlett Yancey team is very athletic and is capable of making some big plays. Add that to another new starting defense for the Wildcats (nine different defensive starting lineups in nine games) and it could have been a game the Wildcats may easily lose.

The Wildcats were pretty focused and played pretty consistent throughout the game. The defense did give up some plays here and there, but they were able to keep the Buccannears out of the end zone most of the game.

The defense still does not wrap up on tackles like they should, but give Bartlett Yancey's running backs credit. They do run well and are not the kind of backs who go down on first contact.

Last week freshman linebacker Seth Cox secured the victory over Cummings with an interception late in the game. This week Seth may have made the step toward being a stand out linebacker. He played very well tonight, finishing with 13 tackles.

Josh Randolph finished with 6 tackles and Devante Barnes, 5 tackles, had one of his better games of the year. Barnes made a couple of tackles for a loss and put pressure on the quarterback throughout the night.

The Wildcats will be on the road for the next two weeks. Next week they will be at Graham, and they finish the season at Reidsville.  We do not want to get ahead of ourselves, but the Reidsville game looks like it will be for the conference championship.
