Today the Randleman Tigers hosted the Eastern Randolph Wildcats in middle school softball. Let me start by saying these girls did not play like middle schoolers. The intensity and drive these young ladies displayed was remarkable. The final score did not in anyway divulge this softball story. This game got away from Randleman due to Eastern's aggressive start. 5-0 from the get go and thats when the momentum was gone. In situations like this you must have the heart and belief in your team. The tigers fought back on numerous occasions with two on base but two outs. The tigers would get started and then stopped in their tracks. The pop ups made it easy for the wildcats out fielders Morgan Maness, Mary Ann Goins and Sadie Smith to prevent any runs. "I told them to come out aggressive and be confident. Stay in the box and move on with failure. You cannot focus on what just happened but on the next play", said Coach Furness, Eastern Randolph.
Key players for Eastern Randolph:
Torey Maness (MVP) with nine Strikeouts, two Singles, one RBI and a Double. Haylee Kearns with one RBI, two Doubles and one Single. Kaylee Carter with two RBI's, a Double and a Single.Lindsey Castleberry with one RBI.
"They lost the desire to win. This is the kind of sport where you have to have the passion!"- Coach Vaughn, Randleman Middle.
Key Player for Randleman:
Courtney Lineberry and Charlie Butler both had one Run.
Eastern is 11-1 and Randleman 4-8. Eastern Randolph is tied with Southwestern Randolph for the top spot. Who do you think will come out on top?
Congratulations Lady Wildcats!
