Andrews scored on the opening possession of the game on 5 plays. The next time the Wheatmore defense took the field they put a great fight, but Andrews was able to convert two 4th downs and scored on their second possession.
Cody Campbell made a big play for Wheatmore by picking up a muffed punt with 2:30 remaining in the 1st quarter. Brayton Hardin had a 22 yard run to get down to the Red Raider 13 yard line, but the Warriors were unable to put points on the board. Andrews led 14 to 0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
The Red Raiders put 21 points on the board in the 2nd quarter to lead 35-0 at the half.
The Wheatmore defense played hard all game long. Andrews is a very talented team, and the Warriors made a lot of great plays to slow them down. Alex Kestner led the team in tackles tonight making stops all over the field. Kestner is a player that gives 100% all the time and is a great leader on the field for Wheatmore. Marvin Taylor was also impressive tonight. Taylor had a couple of pass deflections at defensive back to keep Andrews out of the end zone and limit their wide receivers. Taylor also did a great job returning kickoffs for the Warriors tonight to give them good field position.
On the offensive side of the ball, Brayton Hardin was the work horse for the Warriors. Brayton ran the ball hard every time he touched it. His hard running and relentless effort paid off in the 4th quarter when he broke a 60 yard touchdown run.
