Asheboro’s Bunting wins 2nd State Championship

Asheboro’s Maci Bunting competed in the NCHSAA Indoor Track State Championship on Saturday and won first place honors in high jump with a jump of 5-feet, 2-inches.¬†Bunting’s win follows a State Championship she won in May at the 3A outdoor state meet.

Kaylynn McNair earned the silver in both the long jump, jumping 16-feet and 1.75 inches and the triple jump with a mark of 38-feet, 1.25 inches.

Also competing for the Blue Comets was Allison Kauffman who jumped 5-feet earning seventh place and Desmond Trogdon who ran a 6.83 in the 55 meter dash.

Southwestern Randolph’s Luke Patterson earned 6th place in the boys high jump after jumping 6-feet.
