The Asheboro Blue Comets continued their conference volleyball season with a 3-0 match win over the Southeast Guilford Falcons on Thursday evening. The Comets came into the match 5-0 in conference play and 12-1 overall on the season.

Asheboro and Southeast Guilford stayed close during the first set of play before the Comets pulled away for the win. Neither team could get a large enough lead to feel comfortable until the Comets took a 20-18 lead after a block from Adrianna Butler. The Falcons cut the lead to one, but it was not enough. A kill from Megan Banker gave the Comets a 22-19 lead as they went on to win the set 25-19.

Banker continued were she left off in the first set as she opened the second set with a thundering kill for the Comets. Asheboro jumped out to a 9-1 lead before the Falcons could pick up their second point. The lead was enough for the Comets to coast to a set two victory. Kendall Allen picked up a kill to give the Comets a 12-6 lead. Banker added two more kills as the Comets took a 21-12 lead. Allen would put the exclamation point on the victory with a kill for the final point. Asheboro took the second set 25-14.

The Bleu Comets continued to battle against the Falcons in the third set of play. Southeast Guilford scored the first point of the set, but the Comets quickly took control and never looked back. The Falcons tied the set at 3 all and that would be as close as they would get the rest of the set. Butler picked up another block to give the Comets an 8-3 advantage. Asheboro cruised to a 25-13 win in set three.

Megan Banker led the Comets with 11 kills, 4 blocks, and 2 aces, while Kendall Allen finished with 5 kills, 8 digs, and 1 block. Mary Cate Kovash chipped in 8 kills and 5 blocks.
