Southwestern Randolph High School in 1979-1980

Marking the 10th anniversary of Southwestern Randolph High School, the 1979-1980 school year was all about school pride. The yearbook honored the cafeteria staff for their hard work keeping the students and staff fed well! School spirit ran through the Cougar sports teams, with the football, volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s basketball teams doing their best to make the home town crowd proud.

That year, students worked hard to represent themselves and their classmates as class officers and Junior Marshalls. The Class Officers for the Freshman Class were Anna Campbell (Pres.), Debbie Smith (Vice Pres.), Donna Beane (Secretary), and Bam Black (Treasurer). Sophomore representatives included Sherrie Beane (Pres.), Eddie Harris (Vice Pres.), Devonna Maness (Secretary/Treasurer), and Mark Craven (Reporter). The Juniors were represented by Mark Lamb (Pres.), Myra Smith (Vice Pres.), Gina Gunter (Secretary/Treasurer), and Lori E. Hurley (Reporter). Students Tony Hawkins, Lenny Andrews, Kim Dickinson, Ellen Byrum, Laura Johnson, Anna Boroughs, and Marion Auman served as Junior Marshalls for graduation. The Senior Class representatives included Martica Donald (Pres.), Peri Caudle (Vice Pres.), Kenny Kindly (Secretary), Debbie Sexton (Treasurer), and Melissa Goins (Reporter). Wanda Sue Cagle and Chad McNeill served as Senior Class Mascots for the 10th graduating class.

At homecoming that year, Queen Charlene Shaw led the court with attendants Laura Johnson (Senior), Gina Gunter (Junior), Angela Lamar (Sophomore) and Ana Campbell (Freshman).
