Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” Austin Biggs

It was a short week for sports in Randolph County due to the threat of Hurricane Florence, but the hurricane did not mess with this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” selection. With the threat of severe weather late in the week, teams moved their football games up to Wednesday and it did not stop them from putting together some great performances. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Wheatmore’s Austin Biggs.

Biggs, a junior, had a strong defensive game on Wednesday as he helped lead the Warriors to a 21-7 win over Asheboro. He finished the game with 13 tackles and two sacks. He has been a strong influence on the Warriors’ defense all season and has shown no signs of slowing down. So far this season he has 54 total tackles and 6 sacks. He is averaging 10.3 tackles per game. Biggs has been a big reason that Warriors have started the season 5-0.

Congratulations to Austin Biggs on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
