Stephanie King

Teams across the county closed out the first part of the season with good performances as the holiday break is set to take place within the next week. Teams saw their first look at conference play and will suit up for the Courier Tribune Christmas Tournament over the next few weeks. Everyone came out to play this week and several players stepped up their game to help their team win. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Trinity’s Bre Brown.

Brown is a junior guard for the Bulldogs and has been a key member this season. She has helped Trinity to a 5-5 start to the season with a 1-1 start in PAC-7 conference play. She can score in a variety of ways and she put her skills to work this week as the Bulldogs opened PAC-7 play. On Tuesday, she scored 10 points in a tough loss to the Wheatmore Warriors. Brown helped the Bulldogs rebound on Friday when she poured in 24 points in a 41-28 win. She made several key plays to help the Bulldogs pull away for the win on Friday. Trinity will need Brown to have strong play next week as they participate in the annual Courier Tribune Christmas Tournament.

Congratulations to Bre Brown on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week”!
