Stephanie King

Teams battled it out once again this week and players put on quite a show. One player was key in his team’s success and he deserves to be recognized. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Randleman’s Dominick Poole.

Poole, a multi-sport athlete, led Randleman to two wins this past week as they move to 4-1 in conference play and 9-4 overall on the season. On Tuesday, Poole finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist in the Tigers 60-53 win over the Red Raiders of High Point Andrews. A couple nights later, the Tigers closed out the week with a 56-46 win over the Trinity Bulldogs. Poole was a huge part of the win as he led the Tigers with 14 points. Poole scored the first six points of the game before knocking down buckets when the Bulldogs threatened to take the lead. He is averaging 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.2 steals so far this season.

His hustle and leadership on the court have been key for the Tigers this season and they will need it as they move further into the conference season.

Congratulations to Dominick Poole on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
