Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” Emma Trotter

Warm weather made an appearance this week as teams reached the midway point of the spring sports season. One team had a strong showing winning three games on the week behind strong play from a talented senior. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Asheboro’s, Emma Trotter.

Trotter, a four-year member of the varsity soccer team, had an outstanding week on the soccer field for the Lady Blue Comets as she helped them to three wins to push their winning streak to four. She has been a crucial part of the Blue Comets’ offense all season and this week was no different. On Monday, she helped the Blue Comets to a 3-0 win over Williams in Mid-Piedmont Conference action. Trotter scored all three goals in the win for a hattrick. Two nights later, she led the Comets to a 4-1 win over rival Southwestern Randolph. Trotter picked up two goals on nine shots and one assist in the win over the Cougars. The Comets closed out the week with a 2-0 MPC win over Southeast Guilford behind a strong passing game from Trotter.

The Blue Comets are currently 4-1 in conference play and 5-3-1 overall on the season. If Trotter can maintain her strong play then Comets should have a great rest of the season and find themselves with a spot in the state playoffs.

Congratulations to Emma Trotter on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
