Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” Gracyn Hall

Kaitlyn Mullins

The winter sports season got underway this week as middle school teams took the floor across the county. Every team put in great performances on the opening day of the season and players came out strong to help their team. One player was relentless in leading her team to victory. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is RMS’ Gracyn Hall.

Hall, an eighth-grader, has been a crucial part of the RMS Lady Tigers basketball team the last two seasons and looks to be a key player again this season. In the Tigers season-opening 42-31 win over the NERMS Huskies, Hall did work in the paint and led the Tigers with 16 points. She helped the Tigers pull away in the second quarter as they took a 23-9 lead by halftime. When the Huskies began to close the gap in the second half, Hall did her part both offensively and defensively to keep the Tigers in the lead. The Tigers are poised to have a strong season and with Hall anchoring the offense in the post, they could very well make a run for the top team in the county.

Congratulations to RMS’ Gracyn Hall on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
