Randolph County athletics was back in action this week and several players stepped up to lead their teams to victory. One athlete led her team to three straight victories over PAC-7 opponents this week. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Trinity’s Jade Earnhardt.

Earnhardt, a senior, led the Lady Bulldogs to wins over Wheatmore, Randleman, and Providence Grove. On Tuesday the Bulldogs picked up a come from behind 45-39 win over rival Wheatmore in front of a packed house. Earnhardt finished with 9 points in the contest, but her real contribution came on the defensive end as she forced several Wheatmore turnovers.

The Bulldogs faced off against Randleman on Thursday and Earnhardt led all scorers with 16 points. She was key down the stretch as she made several free throws when the Tigers rallied. One night later, the Bulldogs traveled to Providence Grove and picked up a 49-46 win, but not before having to overcome a first half deficit. Earnhardt knocked down several threes to help the Bulldogs battle back and then made several key free throws as the Patriots closed the gap late. She finished with 18 points on the night.

Earnhardt is a key part of the Bulldogs team and they will need her during the final stretch of the season. Congratulations to Jade Earnhardt on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week”!
