Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” Kylie Vaughan

Stephanie King

Playing sports takes a lot of hard work and dedication but it takes even more hard work and dedication to play multiple sports on top school work and other extracurricular activities. This week’s athlete of the week has proven that she has what it takes to excel both on the field and in the classroom. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Randleman’s, Kylie Vaughan.

Vaughan, a freshman, is a multi-sport athlete for Randleman and has made an impact during her first season with the Tigers. This spring she has been a key member of the Lady Tigers’ varsity soccer teams as well as the track team. This past week she shined in track and field taking first place in two events in just her second track meet ever. Vaughan took home first place in both the girls’ shot put and discus with distances of 32 and 80 respectively. Her two event wins helped the Tigers finish second overall on the day.

Once Vaughan finished her track and field events, she headed to her second athletic event of the day as the Lady Tigers’ soccer team took on the Southwestern Randolph Cougars. Aside from track and soccer, she also participated in volleyball and cheerleading. Sports are not her only activities as she is also involved in chorus, youth group, and dance. Vaughan’s hard work and dedication on the court/field is only second to her hard work and dedication in the classroom. She is a well-rounded student who has made a key impact in her first year of high school. She will be an athlete to watch over the next few seasons.

Congratulations to Kylie Vaughan on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
