Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” Na’heim Lilly

Kaitlyn Mullins

With most fall sports wrapping up their regular season this week, teams made one last push before the post season is set to begin. Middle school football ended their season this week and one player helped their team put an exclamation point on an outstanding season. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is SAMS’ Na’heim Lilly.

Lilly has been a key member of the Comets this season and he showed why this past week. On Wednesday in SAMS’ final regular season game against NAMS, he rushed for three of the Comets four touchdowns. He scored on runs of 60, 40, and 75 yards to lead SAMS to a 28-6 win over NAMS. Lilly picked up several yards in the win for the Comets.

He has helped lead the Comets to a 7-0 finish in the regular season. The perfect finish gave the Comets the regular season championship and the number one seed for “Super Tuesday” this week. SAMS will need Lilly to have another strong performance in their “Super Tuesday” game against number two seed RMS if they hope to finish the season undefeated.

Congratulations to Na’heim Lilly on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week”!
