Mid-State Toyota “Athletes of the Week” Tavis McAdoo & Tim Prevost

After a long week of games and practices, players can finally rest for a few days before starting back over on Monday. Two players from the county deserve the rest as they led their teams to conference victories on Friday night. Both athletes played well for their teams and we had no choice, but to honor both this week. The Mid-State Toyota “Athletes of the Week” are Eastern Randolph’s Tavis McAdoo and Wheatmore’s Tim Prevost.

McAdoo, a sophomore running back, helped lead the Wildcats to a 34-13 win over the Jordan-Matthews Jets. This is his first season as a starter for the varsity Wildcats and has already made a big impact. In Friday’s win over the Jets, McAdoo picked up 202 rushing yards on 13 carries with a touchdown. Those yards were key as the Wildcats fought off a pesky Jets team. Friday was his best game of the season and gives the Wildcats a strong offensive foundation going forward. With McAdoo on the field, the Wildcats have speed and agility to move the ball down the field.

Prevost, a senior wide receiver and defensive back, has been a key member of the Warriors all season long. He helped lead the Warriors to a 21-18 win over arch rival Trinity on Friday and made a few awesome plays. He picked up an interception early in the first quarter before turning things up for the Warriors. His 20-yard touchdown pass from Nick Halo with 25 seconds left in the second quarter gave the Warriors a 13-10 lead that they would never relinquish. He finished the night with 73 yards on 3 kickoff returns, 25 yards on 2 punt returns, 1 touchdown, 20 receiving yards, 4 solo tackles, and 1 interception. He is a player that other teams need to be on the lookout for as he causes major trouble for opponents on both sides of the ball.

Congratulations to these outstanding young men on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athletes of the Week”!
