Patriots tennis falls to Ragsdale

The Providence Grove Patriots varsity tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to the Ragsdale Tigers on Thursday afternoon. The lone win for the Patriots came in doubles action as the team of Logan Routh and Daniel Ellison earned the win. PG will take on Wheatmore on road on Monday March 12.


Cougar tennis tops Southern Guilford

The Southwestern Randolph tennis team picked up a 9-0 conference win over the Southern Guilford Storm on Thursday afternoon. Singles winners for the Cougars were Ben Cross, Wes Koehler, Alex Mercado, Dylan Sweet, Colby Bass, and John Castelloe. Braylen Beason – Bass, Cross – Koehler, and Castelloe – Sweet each teamed up for doubles wins. The Cougars are now 2-0 in conference play and 3-0 overall on the season.


Eagles golf tops Grey Stone

The Uwharrie Charter Eagles golf team posted a 189-198 win over Grey Stone Day on Thursday. UCA’s Stephen Spencer claimed medalist honors with a 39. Other UCA scores were Camden Walker with a 46, Barrett Dozier with a 50 and Don Johnson with a 54.


Wheatmore track takes on Ledford and Randleman

Wheatmore traveled to Ledford on Thursday 3/8 to run against Ledford and Randleman. The Warrior Men fell to Ledford and Randleman while the Women were able to earn a 2nd place finish as they defeated Randleman.
Outstanding performances:
  • Danae Henderson finished 1st place in the 100 meter dash and 2nd in the 200 meter dash.
  • The men’s 4×200 relay finished 1st place (Wyatt Garrison, Jordan Kight, Blake Sheets, Jackson Powell).
  • The women’s 4×100 relay finished first (Erin Lambeth, KhaLi Winningham, Danae Henderson, Rosie Langendorfer).
  • Wyatt Garrison finished 2nd in the 200 meter dash.
  • Neva Hippert finished 1st in pole vault.
  • Nathan Christenbury finished 2nd in pole vault and triple jump.
  • Koda Gibson threw 2nd place in shot put.
