PG vs Wildcats called early

Monday night the Providence Grove Patriots hosted the Eastern Randolph Wildcats for a PAC-7 conference matchup in varsity soccer.

Providence Grove took the first touch on the ball as they tried making their way down the field. The Wildcats’ defense stole the ball as they took their first touch on the ball. Eastern Randolph surpassed the Patriots defense as they took the first attempt at the goal. The Patriots goalie was there for the save. Shortly after the Patriots were able to carry the ball down the field as they got an attempt at the goal. The Wildcats goalie caught the ball for the save.

About halfway through the first half, a penalty was called on the Wildcats in the box to gave the Patriots a free kick. Taking the kick for Providence Grove was Edgar Mondragon as he successfully made the goal for the Patriots. Just minutes later Providence Grove took the ball back down the field as Mondragon kicked the ball in the back of the net for his second goal of the night. Providence Grove took a 2-0 lead. Eastern Randolph didn’t count themselves out just yet as they worked as a team to get the ball downfield. #2 scored off an assist to put the Wildcats on the board.

Seconds later Eastern Randolph scored again as #7 shot the ball passed the Patriots goalie. The Wildcats tied the game at 2 all. Before the rain delay, both teams battled each other as they went back and forth down the field fighting for the ball. Each team took attempts at the goal but were unsuccessful. Due to the weather, the game was called as the game was tied at 2 apiece.
