RHS Senior Night for the Win

Ending the week in a conference match up in softball were the Randleman Tigers as they hosted the Trinity Bulldogs. It was senior night at Randleman as the Tigers honored their five seniors.

Starting strong in the top of the first were the Tigers as they forced the Bulldogs in a three up three down inning. Trinity also had a great start as they gained back to back outs. Charley Butler took ball four as she made her way to first base for the Tigers. Trinity was able to leave Butler on base as they picked up the third out of the inning.

Once again in the top of the second Randleman forced the Bulldogs into a one, two, three inning. In the bottom of the second Aaliayah Ratcliffe led things off with a solo hit for the Tigers. With one out, Bethany Dobias stepped in the batter’s box as she sent the ball into center field for an RBI double that sent Ratcliffe home. Trinity was able to get their second out but followed by giving up a walk to Chloe Hicks. Stealing home plate was Dobias as she put Randleman up 2-0. The Bulldogs left Hicks stranded as they finished the inning. After two complete innings Randleman led 2-0.

Sarah Rice began the top of the third with a strikeout for the Tigers. Trinity’s Abba Williard took one for the team as she was hit with a pitch. The Tigers were able gain back to back outs as they left Williard on base. Trinity started the bottom of the third with a ground out. Butler led things off as she made contact with the ball for a triple. Up next Hallie Chisholm sent the ball into right field for a double. Ratcliffe made contact with the ball for an RBI single that sent Butler home to score. Chisholm went to slide into home plate but was thrown out by the Bulldogs. After three complete innings the Tigers led 3-0.

Randleman was able to force the Bulldogs in another one, two, three inning in the top of the fourth. Following in the Tigers footsteps were the Bulldogs as they too had a three up three down inning.

Having another one, two, three inning were the Tigers as they continued to hold on to their lead. In the bottom of the fifth Rice took ball four as she made her way to first base. Trinity gained back to back outs but Rice was able to tag up as she stole home plate to make it a 4-0 game. Up next was Chisholm as she picked up a base hit. Behind Chisholm was Ratcliffe as she too gained a solo hit. Trinity was able to hold both runners on base as they got out of the inning. Randleman held a 4-0 lead after five complete innings.

Beginning with an out in the top of the sixth were the Bulldogs. Graci Gibbs got on base with a solo hit. With two outs Savannah Fauber put Gibbs into scoring position as she picked up a base hit. Randleman left both runners stranded as they got the third out of the inning. In the bottom of the sixth Trinity forced the Tigers in a one, two, three inning.

Randleman was able to get two outs in a row in the top of the seventh. Alyssa Tobey made contact with the ball as she made her way to first base. The Tigers left Tobey stranded as they finished the inning. Randleman defeated the Bulldogs 4-0 for the last home game of the season.
