RMS & ATMS split doubleheader

It was a battle of top ranked teams as the RMS Tigers hosted the ATMS Bulldogs in a cross-county volleyball doubleheader.

The first match of the night went to the Tigers as they picked up set wins of 26-24 and 25-17. RMS took an early 5-1 lead over the Bulldogs, but ATMS stormed back to cut the lead to one.  The Tigers responded with a 4-0 run. RMS would lead by as many as six before ATMS tied the set at 19 all. A back and forth battle ensued before the Tigers picked up the win. In the second set, RMS jumped out to an early lead and then held off the Bulldogs for the win.

Match number two was an intense battle as the ATMS needed all three sets to claim victory over the Bulldogs. These two teams matched each other point for point early in the first set. RMS had the set tied at 11 before ATMS used a 14-3 run to take a 25-14 set win. The second set of the match kept fans on the edge of their seats as the Tigers pulled out the win. ATMS led early, but once RMS tied it at 14 the Bulldogs could not build a strong lead. RMS took the lead late at 21-20 and would hold on for a 25-22 win.

With the second match tied at one set apiece, a third set was needed to decide a winner. Both teams made this one count as it went down to the wire. RMS led 5-3 early, but ATMS battled back to tie this one at 5 all. After that they outscored the Tigers 10-2 to take a 15-7 win and win the match 2-1.
