Thursday afternoon the Lady Wildcats of SERMS hosted the RMS Lady Tigers for a middle school match up in soccer.

SERMS began the game as they took the first touch on the ball. RMS didn’t waste any time as they were able to press the ball and take it from the Wildcats. The Tigers took a run with the ball but were stopped as the SERMS defense was able to send the ball down the field. Both teams went back and forth as they fought for the ball. RMS took an attempt at the goal but it was saved by the goalie. The Tigers continued to step to the ball as they had control of the ball and put it into scoring range. SERMS stepped up as they made a run with the ball to take an attempt but were unsuccessful. As the time ran out in the first half both teams remained scoreless.

Starting the second half were the Tigers as they wasted no time getting down the field with the ball. Once again RMS took the first attempt at goal but it was saved by the goalie. SERMS put up a fight as they tried to gain control of the ball from the Tigers. Nine minutes into the second half Julianna Pacheco dribbled the ball all the way to the goal as she sent the ball into the back of the net for the Tigers. The Wildcats were able to take control of the ball as they dribbled it down into scoring range. RMS’s defense was able to take the ball from the Wildcats. For majority of the second half the Tigers had control of the ball with touches and passes. RMS took attempt after attempt to score but the goalie was there every time. Emily Roach was able to pass the ball to Ava Highfill as she tapped it into the back of the net. The Tigers took a 2-0 lead. SERMS didn’t quit as they were able to make a couple attempts at the goal towards the end of the second half but they were saved. RMS was able to hold the Wildcats to claim a 2-0 victory.
