Asheboro vs Providence Grove Baseball

The Asheboro Blue Comets came from behind for a 9-8 win over Providence Grove to snap a two-game losing skid on Tuesday at the Copperhead Classic. Providence Grove took a 4-0 lead after the first inning, but Asheboro tied things up at 4 during the bottom of the second. Both teams would be held scoreless during the third and fourth innings before the Patriots retook the lead at 6-4 in the top of the fifth. Asheboro responded in the bottom of the fifth to retie the game. The Patriots took their third lead of the night in the top of the sixth after scoring two more runs. The Blue Comets loaded the bases with their first three batters and all three would score to give the Blue Comets their first lead of the night. Pitcher Trevor Marsh would seal the win with three straight strikeouts in the top of the seventh. Tristan Marsh finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a single, a double, a triple, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI for the Blue Comets. Connor Patterson went 3-for-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored for the Patriots.
