Asheboro vs Southern Guilford Football

Asheboro’s homecoming celebrations did not end the way they wanted it to as they fell 17-14 to the Southern Guilford Storm. The Blue Comets had a 14-7 lead at halftime, but gave up ten unanswered points in the second half. The Storm tied the game with three minutes left in the third quarter of play. Southern Guilford would take the lead on a 22-yard field with under seven minutes to play in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Corey Durrant finished with 52 passing yards before leaving the game due to a knee injury. James Collins rushed for 76 yards and 1 touchdown. The Blue Comets are now 0-4 in conference play and 1-8 overall on the season.
