Eastern Randolph at Jordan-Matthews Softball State Playoffs Rd 4

The Lady Wildcats of Eastern Randolph traveled a few miles down the road for the fourth round state playoff game against the Jordan-Matthews Jets. The eighth seeded Wildcats defeated the sixth seeded Jets 12-4 on Friday night to advance to the semifinals of the state tournament. Eastern Randolph led 5-4 before locking down on defense and holding the Jets scoreless the rest of the game. The Wildcats would score five of their last seven runs with two outs on the board. Haley Kearns went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, while Tori Maness finished 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Marion Goins also went 3-for-4 and brought in 1 run. Maness earned the pitching win after giving up just 1 earned run, 10 hits, and striking out 2 batters.

The Wildcats will face South Granville on Tuesday at 7pm in the first game in the best of three series.
