Randleman at South Granville Baseball State Playoff Rd 4

Randleman’s season came to an end on Friday as they fell 2-1 in the regional finals to South Granville. This was the second time in the last two years the Tigers (23-7) have faced South Granville in the tournament. The first time was back in 2015 when the two teams squared off in the state championship series. On Friday, the first few innings went quickly as both teams’ defense shut down the other. South Granville was the first on the board as they picked up a solo home run in the bottom of the third for a 1-0 lead.

Both teams would go scoreless during the fourth and fifth innings, but the Tigers tied things up in the top of the sixth. Noah Strickland was walk and ended up scoring on an error to tie the game at 1 all. After a scoreless seventh inning, the Vikings of South Granville out scored the Tigers 1-0 in the eighth for the win.
