Randleman vs Asheboro Boys Basketball

The Asheboro Blue Comets came away with a thrilling 52-51 win over the Randleman Tigers on Friday night. Asheboro led 8-2 after the first quarter, but the Tigers battled back to take an 18-17 lead into the half. Randleman stayed in control for most of the third quarter and took a 32-30 lead heading into the fourth. Things became a little stressful during the final quarter as the lead changed hands seven times. Will Clauser came up big for the Blue Comets as he scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter including the game winning three with two second left on the clock. Leading the way for the Blue Comets was Cory Durrant as he finished with 10 points. Devingston Lewis chipped in 9, while Jamel Carl added 8. Sam Gribble led the Tigers with 13 points, while Tyson Green notched 10. Dominick Poole and Tanner McGee both finished with 7 for the Tigers.
