Randleman vs Trinity Girls Basketball CT Tournament Rd 1 Gm 2

The Randleman Lady Tigers and the Trinity Lady Bulldogs faced off in game two of the Courier Tribune Christmas Invitational on Thursday. Randleman took an early 4-0 lead over the Bulldogs at the start of the first, but Trinity would outscore the Tigers 10-2 the rest of the way for a 10-6 lead. Trinity took 12-6 lead at the start of the second quarter, but Randleman would soon close the gap. The Tigers eventually tied the game at 14 all and them again at 16 all before taking an 18-16 lead. A pair of free throws would give the Tigers a 20-16 lead at halftime.

Randleman led throughout a low scoring third quarter and led 25-23 heading into the fourth quarter. Trinity would take over in the fourth quarter and outscore the Tigers 15-7 for a 38-32 win. Jade Earnhardt and Bre Brown paced the Bulldogs with 11 points each, while Lexi Hinson chipped in 8. Caitlin Sexton finished with 4. Taylor Gantt led the Tigers with 8 points, while Kaylee Sexton and Kristen Sutphin both finished with 7. Taylor Deaton and Alecia Johnson each chipped in 3.

Trinity will advance to the first semifinal on Friday and face the Asheboro Blue Comets at 6:00PM.
