Southwestern Randolph at High Point Central Baseball Copperhead Classic

The Southwestern Randolph Cougars picked up a 10-1 win over the High Point Central Bison on Friday to finish the Copperhead Classic with a perfect 3-0 record. Southwestern Randolph brought in four runs in the first inning for the early lead and built on it in the second as they brought in four more runs. Parker LaPlant and Carson Clapp lead the early offensive spurt for the Cougars. High Point Central scored their lone run in the fifth, while the Cougars added two more runs in the fifth. LaPlant picked up a RBI triple during the inning followed by a RBI single from Braxton Davis.

LaPlant led the way for the Cougars both at the plate and on the mound. He finished with 4 hits at the plate and got the win on the mound after pitching a complete game where he gave up 2 hits, 1 unearned run, 1 walk, and struck out 8 batters. Carson Clapp went 2-for-2 at the plate with 5 RBIs, while Davis finished with 3 hits.
