Trinity vs Eastern Randolph Men’s Basketball

The Eastern Randolph Wildcats advanced to tonight’s PAC-6 Tournament semifinals with a 66-61win over the Trinity Bulldogs on Monday. The Bulldogs were in control early and led 13-4 after the first quarter, but Eastern Randolph got hot in the second. The Wildcats batted their way back to take a 23-18 lead. The were a couple of ties as the second drew to a close, but bucket from Tyrese Cassidy and a three at the buzzer from Malik Herbert gave the Wildcats five point edge at the half, 30-25. The Wildcats would stay in control the rest of the game, but did have a scare late in the fourth as the Bulldogs cut the lead to three. Eastern Randolph will play number one seeded High Point Andrews in tonight’s second PAC-6 semifinal.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was Malik Herbert who finished with 22 points. Dezmin Austin notched 17 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, while Nate Cockman chipped in 10. For the Bulldogs, it was Nate Byers leading the way with 20 points. Dalton Moncus added 16.
