The Wheatmore Lady Warriors’ tennis team had an impressive season finishing with an overall record of 16-3. Throughout October, the Lady Warriors participated in various postseason events before seeing their season come to an end in the second round of the Dual Team State Playoffs.

Earlier in the month, Wheatmore traveled to Jordan-Matthews for the PAC-7 conference tournament and won big. The team was named PAC-7 Conference Champions and Kara Comer took home the Singles Conference Championship. Hannah Carter finished as a singles finalist, while Kyndall Fritz and Taylor Comer finished as finalists in doubles action. All four ladies advanced to the 2A Mid East Regionals in Durham where Kara Comer finished in fourth place. Comer earned wins in the first and second rounds of regionals before falling in the semifinals. Her fourth-place finish was good enough to advance to the 2A state playoffs.

The team dominated their way to a 6-0 win over McMichael in the first round of the 2A Dual Team State Playoffs before falling in the second round to the North Carolina School of Science and Math. Congratulations to the Wheatmore Warriors on a great season!
