The Wheatmore Warriors hosted the Randleman Tigers Monday in a PAC-7 varsity boys’ soccer match. Wheatmore entered the game 3-3-1 on the season, while the Tigers were 1-4-1.

This one started off strong as the Warriors quickly pressured the ball. Wheatmore tried to score early, but Randleman’s Jesus Jaramillo was there for the save. Randleman got their first shot at the goal but was unsuccessful. The Warriors were the first on the board as freshman Jagur Williams found the back of the net at the 35:50 mark. After trailing 1-0, the Tigers stepped up their aggressiveness as they pressured the ball more to get some good looks at the goal. Unfortunately, the Tigers were unable to score during the first half. Wheatmore had several more looks at the goal, but could not get the ball passed Jaramillo. This one would be a battle until the 11:02 mark of the first half when lightning struck off in the distance. The game was immediately delayed and players were escorted to safety.
