WHS track has one place at regionals

The Wheatmore Warriors’ track and field team had one athlete place at regionals over the weekend. Alex Trexler took home first place in the shot put at the 2A Midwest Regionals and will compete in the 2A state meet on Friday. This is the first time in school history that the Warriors have had a regional champion. Trexler also placed fifth in the discus throw.

Other notable performances:

  • The girls’ 4×100 and 4×200 relays (Emma Atwell, Madelyn McQuaigue, Rosie Langendorfer, and Erin Lambeth) ran season bests.
  • Neva Hippert finished 8th in the pole vault and 9th in the 800-meter run.
  • The girls’ 4×400 relay (Emma Atwell, Madelyn McQuaigue, Lillian Church, and Erin Lambeth) finished 13th.
